Sometimes, you may receive when your try to open files on the disk "cannot be read" error. There're several reasons for that bad sectors, cross-linked files, lost clusters and directory errors are major reasons.

- Go to computer
- Right click the hard disk partition that you want to check for errors, and click on Properties.
- In properties window click "Tool tab" and click " Check now" under the "Error checking"
- Then check disk window will open and check its "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" box.
- Click start then it scan and automatically repair errors.
